Pick a path

Hello blog buddies! This week me and my group where measuring angles. We had to make a pick a path about it. I learnt that an acute angle is smaller than a right and and an obtuse angle is bigger than a right angle. I made a pick a path that i'm going to show you.

House of bricks

My favourite Lego activity was pass the bricks because there were different types of lego and we could see the cool things that people added onto yours with the cool pieces. My group and I worked really well together and listened to each other when we asked each other what ours was supposed to be.

My least favourite Lego activity was building the towers because my group was putting pressure on me and shouting at each other, and our tower kept breaking.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the mosaic activity because it showed if I work better independently or in a group. I think I work better independently.

The most challenging activity was car racing because we wanted to win and we were looking at other peoples cars and how they made it and how far it went. We had to work with a buddy. My partner and I agreed on everything we put on the car, but we didn’t come first.

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because they helped each other out and gave them tips.

Athletics training

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Friday we did athletics training. We did long jump and high jump. It was very difficult because we had to do it straight on and then turn. We got slit into year 5s and 6s.

Next week we are doing athetics training every afternoon. Today lots of people from Tumu Hub where at ripper rugby so the hub was quit and small. A lot of people got injured on long jump but I was fine.

Thank you!

3D shapes

Hello and welcome back to my blog post. This week Tumu Hub have been making paper nets to rule the height, weight and volume! If your wondering what is a paper net i'll tell you. A paper net is a 3D shape that you have to cut out and glue together, and you can decorate as well!

We had to rule the volume witch is across the shape, we had to rule the height witch is up and we had to rule the width witch is down!
Since we did it on paper I can't show you but hopefully you will find out soon!

My persuasive writing

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog! In lock down we did online google meets for our learning! For my writing we had  do persuasive writing about if all kids should be online all the time. Persuasive writing is an argument if you want something. You have to have at least 4 reasons on why you want that. You also have to choose a topic, like say you wanted to have school breaks longer you have to choose a topic you could right your reasons in a letter or on a TV. You could do anything to show to the government so they can show people so they will make school breaks longer!

Here is my persuasive writing! Have a good look!

Grit and perseverance

Grit and perseverance are really good life brain questions to help people when they are struggling. It's kind of like a life hack but in a good way. When you fail at something or you are struggling perseverance or grit comes into your body. Me and my reading group had to write about grit and perseverance. I did mine on a google slide. I will show you my slide!

How have you shown grit or perseverance in you life? You can find out mine in my slide that I made!

My umbrella story

Hello, and welcome back to my blog, for writing today we wrote about a little girl and her mum donating toys to an orphanage. It was about grit and perseverance. Its like putting somebody else before yourself, or putting yourself in someone else's shoes. Here is my story

Yellow Umbrella

Early one dreadful morning, the old brown wooden door to Miss Elem’s Home For Children creaked open. The girl with the lemon coloured umbrella cautiously entered the orphanage before finding a cosy bucket for her umbrella.  Not wanting to be seen, Boris quickly turned his head around the door frame quickly so that he was hidden from view of the little girl and her mum. Standing off to the side the little girl watched the exciting scene as different children reached into the brown crinkled box for hidden things. The young girl smiled as she watched the young little boy speeding around the room like a UFO. Her smile slowly dropped as she looked back to the wet rusty umbrella stand and all she saw were puddles. Her beloved yellow umbrella had vanished.

Do you know what perseverance is?
