Hello blog buddies! This week me and my group where measuring angles. We had to make a pick a path about it. I learnt that an acute angle is smaller than a right and and an obtuse angle is bigger than a right angle. I made a pick a path that i'm going to show you.
Kia ora, I am a student at St Francis of Assisi School, Welcome - Haere Mai. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note my work may include spelling or other errors because some of it will be my first drafts. House of bricks
My favourite Lego activity was pass the bricks because there were different types of lego and we could see the cool things that people added onto yours with the cool pieces. My group and I worked really well together and listened to each other when we asked each other what ours was supposed to be.
My least favourite Lego activity was building the towers because my group was putting pressure on me and shouting at each other, and our tower kept breaking.
The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the mosaic activity because it showed if I work better independently or in a group. I think I work better independently.
The most challenging activity was car racing because we wanted to win and we were looking at other peoples cars and how they made it and how far it went. We had to work with a buddy. My partner and I agreed on everything we put on the car, but we didn’t come first.
I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because they helped each other out and gave them tips.

My persuasive writing
Kia ora and welcome back to my blog! In lock down we did online google meets for our learning! For my writing we had do persuasive writing about if all kids should be online all the time. Persuasive writing is an argument if you want something. You have to have at least 4 reasons on why you want that. You also have to choose a topic, like say you wanted to have school breaks longer you have to choose a topic you could right your reasons in a letter or on a TV. You could do anything to show to the government so they can show people so they will make school breaks longer!
Here is my persuasive writing! Have a good look!

My umbrella story
Hello, and welcome back to my blog, for writing today we wrote about a little girl and her mum donating toys to an orphanage. It was about grit and perseverance. Its like putting somebody else before yourself, or putting yourself in someone else's shoes. Here is my story
Yellow Umbrella
Early one dreadful morning, the old brown wooden door to Miss Elem’s Home For Children creaked open. The girl with the lemon coloured umbrella cautiously entered the orphanage before finding a cosy bucket for her umbrella. Not wanting to be seen, Boris quickly turned his head around the door frame quickly so that he was hidden from view of the little girl and her mum. Standing off to the side the little girl watched the exciting scene as different children reached into the brown crinkled box for hidden things. The young girl smiled as she watched the young little boy speeding around the room like a UFO. Her smile slowly dropped as she looked back to the wet rusty umbrella stand and all she saw were puddles. Her beloved yellow umbrella had vanished.
Do you know what perseverance is?

Trip recount
On 20th of May Tumu Hub went on a town trip to Margaret Mahy. We all had to do activities in our teams. The activities were Waka, Victoria square, Tuna and Mats.
My favourite part of the trip was tracing the etchings on the ground. There were tracings on the ground of pictures from when the Māori people came to New Zealand. We had a piece of paper and a crayon to put on the ground on top of a carving.
Something I learnt was there are stories that are on the ground that are a bit hard to find but they tell a story. There is a picture of Tuna on the ground in the water playground and there were birds on the metal poles beside the water playground from The artists from Ngai Tahu. Many of the seats were shaped as a waka from when the Māori people came.
The thing I found the most interesting was the land at Margaret Mahy Playground used to be a pool with a gym and there used to be some markets there. But then they changed it into a family playground.
This trip has helped me with my PBL because now it is going to be easy to bring more Māori artwork into the school and to label things in Māori like the trees and the native things.
